<p>We matched on Hinge after bonding over a shared love of Billy Joel. Planning our first date involved a flurry of messages about Keego Harbor; Brian first suggested a modest bar, noticed Bethany’s hesitation, and immediately switched gears—Sylvan Table it was. Bethany arrived to find Brian waiting in his car; a drink at the bar turned into dinner and lasted until the restaurant closed. From there we built our relationship one concert, trip, and lazy Sunday at a time. On a whirlwind five-day trip to California we tried to pack every hour: in San Francisco, beneath the quiet arches of the Palace of Fine Arts, Brian only had to reveal the ring. Bethany said yes before he could start his speech, and we’ve been writing the rest of our story together ever since.</p>
